Communicating

Communicating in Nilgiri is very important in finding out information from other people. It is the way for organizing campaigns and making new friends.

Exploring

Exploring in Nilgiri is just as important as communicating. Find new things that other people have not found. Share that information as a token of friendship. Or try and keep that information to yourself as your own means of getting ahead.

Combat

In the world of Nilgiri, combat is a way of life. Experience, gold, treasure and even friends are made through combat. The adventure comes at seeking the next great hunt.

Economy

Nilgiri has a note economy. Gold and other treasure typically should be turned into the banking guild in exchange for notes instead of coins. The banking guild guarantees the value of the note. Shopkeepers and other established businesses should not have any problem accepting a banking guild note.

Justice

The world of Nilgiri has a system of courts to uphold some justice in the case people of murder and thieves. Unfortunately, in the world of Nigiri, imprisonment is not an option, and justice comes by death.

Races

Nilgiri has some basic races that you may choose from when rolling a character. Some have certain advantages over others in particular areas. Choose a race depending on what sort of skills you wish your character to develop. Exposed domestication has made city races weaker than their more rustic counterparts in the world of Nilgiri.

Skills and Spells

Nilgiri is a class-less system. The skills and spells a player can earn is mapped out by the natural stats you roll when you create your character.

Friends

Nilgiri believes in friendship and better ways to keep in touch with your friends.

Weather

Nilgiri has varying weather. The years have seasons and are somewhat predictable. Weather affects the comfort of the clothing being worn as well as some spells.

Time

Time is handled differently in the world of Nilgiri than in the real world use of time.

The Pseudo-Dice System

The game relies on a basic system of dice rolling somewhat similiar to games like Rolemaster or D&D. The system presented here is home grown and would not necessarily work outside of computer calculations. Results that end up in fractions would neither be rounded nor truncated internally like they may be in traditional paper based game systems. Also Nilgiri may use a concept of a fractional dice, or odd sided dice which has no practical counterpart. There could be ways to simplify this system to be more “machine” efficient however, we use this pseudo-dice system to help visualize what is going on internally.
