Shopkeepers and other established businesses accept Banking Guild notes. Nilgiri's player-facing shops lean on an auction-style market rather than a fixed sticker price for every item — see also Codex: Economy and Banking Guild.
Bring a Banking Guild note (or enough account funds via note debit) when you buy, bid, identify, or list goods.
At a shopkeeper, list shows current auctions and sales with item ids, prices in gc (gold coins), and offer counts.

Ask the keeper to value an item you carry before you auction it. The whisper explains listing cost and any refundable minimum-price deposit.

Hand an item to the shop with auction (or related sell phrasing your client expands). You may set an asking price and an optional minimum. Service fees are debited from your note / account.

With no minimum, the service fee is smaller:

Place a bid on a listed item with offer. Too-low bids are refused; accepted offers debit your account and may be refunded if you are outbid.

Paid identification of a listed item reveals type, AC, flags, wear slots, and modifiers.

Individual keepers only trade certain item types and may have open / close hours. If the shop will not buy or sell what you offer, try another specialist (armorer, weapon smith, general store, and so on).
