Privacy Policy

This is a short, modern privacy note for the Nilgiri website and MUD. It is not a recovered 2000s legal document and is not written as formal counsel. It describes what the game and wiki reasonably collect to operate.

Connection metadata — IP address and connection times needed to run SSH / game sessions, enforce idle limits, and operate basic abuse controls
Account / character data — name, password hash (or equivalent credential storage), e-mail used at character creation, race and appearance choices, stats, inventory, skills, friends lists, and other persistent character state
Gameplay logs — routine server logs (for example connection, errors, selected game events) used to keep the world running and to debug problems

Character creation uses e-mail to identify a primary owner across characters and to deliver a temporary password. The login text states that e-mail is private and is not used to solicit you.

Ordinary web server logs (IP, user agent, requested URL, timestamps)
Wiki session cookies when you browse or edit DokuWiki
Whatever content you voluntarily publish on wiki pages

We do not sell player e-mail lists
We do not ask for payment card data to play
This page does not claim third-party ad tracking as part of the MUD itself

Do not reuse an important password from elsewhere
Use an e-mail inbox you control (and check spam during creation)
Contact the implementors through ordinary game / site channels if you need a character or e-mail concern looked at
